War... war never changes. It began with the bombing of the old world. Nuclear fire destroyed much of the American Commonwealth, and what survived did so by adjusting to the wasteland left in war's wake. 200 years later, out of the development of the Boneyard, the Will Roger Caravan Company took up the challenge to establish the Route 66 highway as a caravan trade route, stretching from NCR controlled California to the Brotherhood of Steel in Chicago, Illinois. Their progress met its end in St. Louis, "Missury," where a year-long campaign ended in another nuclear detonation to the city.

Months after the blast, survivors and drifters alike creep back into the ruins of the old world wreck. The shattered remains of establishments shake off the Fallout and carry on. The bones of St. Louis stir again with life...

October-December, 2299

The temperature is dropping, but it's nothing like the blizzard of 2298. Proper shelter at night is becoming non-negotiable. Drifters must either pool their resources to afford a homestead or they must rent from one of the few establishments remaining.

WASTELAND LOCATIONS can be discovered all across the American Commonwealth map. In St. Louis, important locals are those inhabited by established groups. These are often hubs of high activity and traffic. Not every drifter passing through will be welcome in every territory - some places can be friendly, hostile, or neutral to different sorts of travelers. [Official FO66 Map]
The House Historic courthouse (6am-12am) Run by Liliana Marat, The House is the city's hub of civilization & where most of the locals have taken shelter after the nuke detonation. The front entrance is the meet & greet center. Every room within has been re-purposed - as public centers, private businesses, or personal housing. There are three accessible floors: 1st floor mostly for public centers, 2nd floor mostly for business, and 3rd floor mostly for housing. The front lawn space is used for agriculture.
Union Station historic train depot Most activity is located at the main entrance & the structure's deepest bowels. The entryway is large enough for vehicles & wondrously defended like the station's perimeter. The gear-headed gang has a few establishments inside: The Chop-Shop Clinic, Flavor of the Weak Diner, War Toys Mechanics, Slumberdome Boarding, Rubber's Revenge Raceway, & Platform 9 &-some-quarters slave auction. Union Station is ruled by Deadbolt of the 66ers & Rutger of the Super Mutants.
River King Casino Steamer (24 hours/casino 5pm-2am) This prewar luxury liner has 3 levels: The captain's & crew's private quarters on the 3rd floor, guest accommodations on the 2nd floor, & all entertainment located on the 1st floor. The King's Chalice Bar, River King Gambling, & The River Dance stage offer nearly all the entertainment in the area. Lower steerage may accommodate non-human gamblers. The casino is docked along East St. Louis & is the HQ where Kit Wright & his crew run the city.
Vault 58 Metro tunnel (6am-11pm) Located across the Mississippi in the East St. Louis subway, the vault opened in mid 2298. The vault inhabitants have been lucky to find good contact with the St. Louis settlers and have offered trade, medical & educational assistance, and safe room renting in exchange for goods & services. The vault operates under a matriarchy and is currently looking for the next female to take up the Overseer role.
Carousel Crypt Prewar Mall Founded within an irradiated shopping center, "The Crypt" is accessed via Fair Lanes bowling alley, located beside the mall's grand carousel. Founded and run by prewar survivor, Carmilla Roster, the ghoul inhabitants have redecorated their side of the mall in a carnival flair. They call their home the Carousel of Creeps - most non-ghouls refer to it as Carousel Crypt for the swarms of ferals that are known to wander around. While guarded & wary with smoothskins, the ghouls do offer open trade.
Brotherhood Bunkers Alpha Chicago, Illinois & Gamma East St. Louis Both bunkers are 3 levels, Gamma being half as large as Alpha. 1st level: reception, vertibird hangar, & deathclaw pens. 2nd level: training rooms, armory, labs for science & meds & study, mess hall. 3rd level: Elder's chamber & conference room & the living quarters for male & female soldiers. Brotherhood suffered heavy losses after the BoS vs 66er Conflict.
The Spillway Louisiana (via Rorke's ferryboat) In the bayou, settlers build their structures capable of floating or high enough to withstand the annual floods. Life is humid, heavy, & wet - but mostly it is dangerous. The thick bogs, heavy mist, & deep waters hide many threats & perils. While most settlers of the Spillway are friendly enough for trade, the wilder swamp men are known cannibals & voodoo tribes can have equally deadly pagan rituals. Swamp medicines & big game makes it a place still worth the visit.
WRCC Trade Stop Historic cathedral (abandoned) The prewar church suffered structural damage during the 2298 66er turf war. Scrap wood & steel reconstruction retrofitted the front of the cathedral after the attack. The church's main atrium is filled with various trade stalls. The back rooms are used for living quarters and storage. The second floor choir seating is now used to rent beds for the night. Painted over the front doors, "WRCC Trade." The outpost has been derelict after the St. Louis warhead detonation.
The Clinic Prewar hotel (abandoned) Founded by the FotA medic, Bonnibel Swain. Utilizing the only two accessible floors. 1st floor lobby is used as a reception area. The right wing for intensive care patients, left wing for staff quarters. The 1st floor cafeteria, beyond the lobby, has been salvaged for meal preparation. The 2nd floor rooms are used for: surgery, consultation, and patient stay & care. The clinic has been uninhabited since the St. Louis warhead detonation.
Little Junktown Junkyard (abandoned) Owned by Lucky Luna, Little Junktown is the pinnacle of local scrap, holding all manner of various odds and ends. Surrounded by a wall of dead cars framed with a defensive rampart, the interior holds warehouses for storage & an industrial-grade furnace. The enclosed "checkout" stall & connected office is located beside the port container entryway - the only designated in-and-out. The scrapyard has been derelict since St. Louis' warhead detonation.
