War... war never changes. It began with the bombing of the old world. Nuclear fire destroyed much of the American Commonwealth, and what survived did so by adjusting to the wasteland left in war's wake. 200 years later, out of the development of the Boneyard, the Will Roger Caravan Company took up the challenge to establish the Route 66 highway as a caravan trade route, stretching from NCR controlled California to the Brotherhood of Steel in Chicago, Illinois. Their progress met its end in St. Louis, "Missury," where a year-long campaign ended in another nuclear detonation to the city.

Months after the blast, survivors and drifters alike creep back into the ruins of the old world wreck. The shattered remains of establishments shake off the Fallout and carry on. The bones of St. Louis stir again with life...

October-December, 2299

The temperature is dropping, but it's nothing like the blizzard of 2298. Proper shelter at night is becoming non-negotiable. Drifters must either pool their resources to afford a homestead or they must rent from one of the few establishments remaining.

Vault dwellers are encouraged to participate in quests! Quests are fun and rewarding group challenges that offer reputation or notoriety for the dwellers who successfully complete them. Quests also offer the chance for participants to interact with others may they not normally get the chance to. Quests are community building objectives for any vault, with possible payouts.

ST. LOUIS 'DOWNTOWN'
"DOWNTOWN" is the district of St. Louis the locals have taken to congregating within. Radiation is still present though not as prominent as in the RUINS. Mutants, raiders, and other threats are fewer. The Gateway Arch monument is located in the Memorial parkway.

Tucker Boulevard (W), the Mississippi River (E), Washington Avenue (N), the highway (S).

ST. LOUIS RUINS
The RUINS are the vast, sprawling labyrinth of the destroyed city of St. Louis. The city became a haven for Super Mutants and other similar threats after the Master's fall and many resources that were not lost during the Great War have remained untouched. It is still believed there is something within the RUINS that draws creatures to the skeleton metropolis. There is a relatively prominent amount of radiation that lingers in the RUINS to the current date.

EAST ST. LOUIS
Directly across the Mississippi from the Arch, East St. Louis begins the state of Illinois. The Brotherhood of Steel's main Bunker (Alpha) is located just outside the ruins of the "Wind City", Chicago.

Chicago is a veritable wasteland of ruthless storms and the BoS maintains bunkers below ground. The "Wind City" is a blown-out skeleton, having suffered greatly during the Great War.

The great steamboat, The River King, is a floating CASINO docked directly across the river from the Gateway Arch. The ship is moored alongside the East St. Louis riverbank.

The river-ferry Mamba No. 5 travels up and down the Mississippi docking at: RED WING, Minnesota, in the north to the southern bayous of THE SPILLWAY, Louisiana.
